Pump Review
Are you ready to achieve “skin-splitting” pumps? If you are looking for an ordinary pre workout supplement that helps increase energy and builds muscle, you are going to want to stay away from Pump. This supplement is designed to “unleash the freak inside” you and give you the most intense workout you’ve ever had.
Pump by MPR contains a creatine-packed formula, according to the makers of this supplement. If you are looking to take your workout to the next level, you may want to consider trying Pump.
Ingredients
The first thing that caught our eye when we took a look at the label of Pump was the fact that it contains a proprietary blend that totals 13,350 mg and utilizes 18 ingredients. We are going to focus on just a handful of these ingredients.
Creatine: Pump contains both creatine monohydrate and creatine chelate. Both forms of creatine have been shown to increase pumps and strength, but their metabolic pathways are arguably different.
Beta Alanine: This ingredient has been tested and shown to increase endurance and improve recovery. However, beta alanine has no direct effect on muscle growth or strength.
Arginine AKG: While some suggest that arginine AKG is more efficient than arginine, no clinical studies support this claim. Arginine is commonly used to increase nitric oxide and growth hormones.
Caffeine: Well known for its ability to increase energy, caffeine has also been shown to improve brain function and enhance mental awareness.
Resveratrol: When nitric oxide is increased, so are free radicals. Resveratrol is one of the most powerful antioxidants and helps fight against free radicals.
Pros
Because Pump’s blend is so large, you are likely to see some results. Also, Pump contains a wide variety of ingredients like those listed above and most of them are proven either in the lab or in the real world or both.
Also, for a supplement that has such a high volume of ingredients and such a large blend, Pump is a great deal at around $30.
Cons
We are always skeptical of proprietary blends because you don’t actually know how much of each ingredient is found in each serving. You may be getting enough caffeine or arginine, but there is a chance this supplement doesn’t contain enough creatine. We simply can’t tell and that makes us wary of proprietary blends.
Also, although creatine and caffeine have shown to be effective at boosting energy and promoting greater strength, they are known for their side effects as well. Creatine generally causes bloating and dehydration, while caffeine can cause heart problems, headaches, and restlessness.
Conclusion
Pump appears to have all the right ingredients at a relatively affordable price. However, because there is a proprietary blend, we can’t be sure you will be getting the right amount of each ingredient.
Still, Pump seems to be an effective pre workout product and at such a low price, we see no reason not to recommend at least trying it.
