Performance Optimizer was created by Vega Sports to give vegans something to take to enhance their overall performance during workouts. But does it actually work? We are going to put Performance Optimizer to the test to see if it’s worth it to you.

Based on consumer reviews, Performance Optimizer appears to be a safe and somewhat effective product. The most positive reviews we found came from people who claimed to experience massive amounts of energy during their workout and some even said they lost weight. According to the negative reviews, Performance Optimizer didn’t do anything to boost energy or promote weight loss. Also, those with negative reviews claimed that the taste of Performance Optimizer was grainy and gritty and left a bad aftertaste for hours.
One fact worth mentioning is that Performance Optimizer is no longer under production. Vega Sports gave it the axe for some reason. Our best bet would be that it just wasn’t selling as well as anticipated. Regardless the reason, this is a bad sign for those looking to purchase Performance Optimizer.
We also took a look at the ingredients listed on the label or Performance Optimizer. Here are just a few ingredients that we found:
Coconut Oilseed: 500mg
According to research, coconut oil seed has been shown to help build protein. Also, it is packed with essential minerals like zinc and iron.
Kombucha Leaf: 500mg
Some researchers suggest that this extract is a safe and effective alternative to caffeine as it boosts energy without causing you to crash. Kombucha Leaf is also said to aid in the digestion process.
Yerba Mate Leaf: 167mg
Because this extract is high in antioxidants, users can experience better body function such as increased energy and a stronger immune system. Research even suggests that yerba mate leaf can even help reduce fat.
Devil`s Claw Root: 150mg
During and after a workout, you are more likely to experience joint pain. Devil’s claw root is designed to treat inflammation and reduce joint pain.
After taking a look at some consumer reviews and product facts, we aren’t highly confident in the results you’ll get from trying Performance Optimizer. Even though some reviews were very positive, we don’t see much in these ingredients that lead us to believe you’re workout will be enhanced from taking this supplement.

This is a definite plus for anyone allergic to these substances and anybody who is a vegan. Overall, we think Performance Optimizer is a safe product.

The Wallet Test
Even though Performance Optimizer is no longer being produced, you can still find it on shelves and online. One bottle of Performance Optimizer runs for around $40, which seems a bit overpriced for a below average pre workout supplement. If you are a vegan or have allergies to dairy, soy, or gluten this product may be worth it to you. Otherwise, we don’t see much value in it.

Overall Score
Unfortunately for Vega Sports, we put more emphasis on effectiveness and price than we do on safety. After all, if you wanted all-natural ingredients without much effect, you could go outside and eat some of the plants nearest you.
Despite some positive customer reviews, we can’t seem to find a reason to rate Performance Optimizer very high. We are giving this supplement a very mediocre score.
