Thyroid Formula
The formula combines: Vitamin B-6, Folate, Vitamin B-12, Iodine, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, L-Tyrosine, Irish Moss, Guggul Standardized Extract, Organic Kelp, Ashwagandha Extract, and Trace Mineral Concentrate.
Vitamin B-6: 2 mg — assists the body in assimilating lipids and metabolizing amino acids.
Folate (as Folic Acid): 400 mcg — needed to synthesize DNA, repair DNA, and methylate DNA. Increases levels of red blood cells.
Vitamin B-12: 60 mcg — key in the function of the brain and nervous system, energy production, cell metabolism, DNA, etc.
Iodine (from Kelp and Irish Moss): 225 mcg — is required for the essential thyroxin hormones produced by and concentrated in the thyroid gland.
Zinc: 25 mg — supports the body in recovery after injury, works as an antioxidant.
Selenium: 50 mcg — plays a role in the functioning of the thyroid gland and in every cell that uses thyroid hormone, by participating as a co-factor for the three known thyroid hormone deiodinases, which activate and then deactivate various thyroid hormones and their metabolites.
Copper: 1 mg — a trace mineral and antibacterial.
L-Tyrosine: 1 g — is a precursor to neurotransmitters and increases plasma neurotransmitter levels, particularly dopamine and norepinephrine, but has little if any effect on mood. The effect on mood is more noticeable in humans subjected to stressful conditions.
Irish Moss: 200 mg — high in iodine.
Guggul Standardized Extract: 75 mg — utilized for energy support.
Organic Kelp: 60 mg — rich in iodine and alkali.
Ashwagandha Extract: 50 mg — an adaptogenic herb which has been shown to relieve: chronic fatigue, dehydration, bone weakness, muscle weakness and tension, loose teeth, thirst, impotency, premature aging, emaciation, debility, constipation, senility, rheumatism, nervous exhaustion, memory loss, neurodegenerative disorders
Trace Mineral Concentrate: 5 mg
Iodine (from Kelp) and Tyrosine are two integral constituents of thyroid hormone, with the minerals Selenium, Zinc and Copper, to assist in its production. In addition, Guggul Extract, is an Ayurvedic herb known for its ability to support a healthy metabolism.
