Nanostim is a pre-workout supplement that is made and marketed by the nutritional supply company, MuscleTech.
Because MuscleTech describes Nanostim as a workout enhancers that will not only change the way you workout, but change the industry of workout supplements altogether.
Since we’re always interested in the next big thing, we decided to take a closer look at Nanostim to see if it is really the revolutionary that MuscleTech claims it is.
What It Does
According to MuscleTech, Nanostim is formulated with only the finest ingredients that have been proven to increase your muscles’ endurance and your ability to workout longer and harder.
Specifically, it is supposed to raise the levels of arginine in your blood stream to prevent your muscles from feeling fatigue.
It claims to be able to do all of this without using any fillers or mysterious proprietary blends.
How It Does It
After taking one look at Nanostim’s ingredient list, we can tell that their main ingredient is L-Citrulline, with as much as 3,000mg per dose.
L-Citrulline is an intermediary of the urea cycle which is essentially the process by which our body rids itself of ammonia and other wastes that are filtered through the kidneys.
Despite the fact that MuscleTech claims L-Citrulline can stimulate the production of Arginine, L-Citrulline is actually a byproduct of Arginine, rather than the other way around.
When Arginine is oxidized it gives off L-Citrulline, and when L-Citrulline is oxidized it gives off nitric oxide. Although nitric oxide can energize your muscles, L-Citrulline in its supplement form isn’t oxidized the same way.
In fact, most performance enhancing supplements use Citrulline Malate because it is more readily used in the body.
Would We Buy It?
Not only does the science behind Nanostim not match up, but the users of this product give reviews that are less than encouraging.
Most say that although they appreciated the convenience of the capsule form of Nanostim, they saw no improvement in their workouts whatsoever. Because of this, we can not say that we would by Nanostim.
