Hyper FX Review
Although it might sound juvenile, no one can deny that one of the benefits of having a good pre-workout supplement is that you don’t have to get bored with plain water.
That’s why when we saw that BSN’s newest product was an effervescent pre-workout supplement we were intrigued by the fizz if nothing else. But because BSN is pretty consistent about creating quality products, we decided to take a closer look at this pre-workout supplement to see what it was capable of.
Background
Hyper FX not only promises to be an exciting pre-workout supplement, but it also claims to be able to increase your energy and endurance levels so that you can workout at a higher intensity for longer periods of time.
Hyper FX also promises to be able to help your body break down fat stores so that you can have less adipose tissue that takes away from the tone and definition of your muscles. Hyper FX plans to do all of this through the main ingredient of CarnoSyn.
History
Even though the ingredient CarnoSyn is clearly an original name for an ingredient, it is far from cryptic. With just a little research we found that CarnoSyn is the same thing as the amino acid Beta-Alanine.
Although many people are familiar with the name Beta-Alanine, as it is commonly used in many pre-workout supplements, few people are as aware that it is not, in fact, used for the biosynthesis of any proteins or enzymes.
Instead, it is metabolized into acetic acid, the same acid that is the byproduct of rotting fruit, once Beta-Alanine reaches the digestive system. Unfortunately, many people think this amino acid will help them produce more muscle tissue, but that is simply not the case.
Ingredients
Even though the main ingredient of Hyper FX is something of a disappointment, we still found some ingredients like the minerals Niacin, Calcium, Potassium and Magnesium that showed some potential.
These minerals, common though they are, have been found to contribute to better bone health and even can prevent overuse injuries in some cases.
We also saw the peptide BioPerine in Hyper FX’s formula. This is promising because BioPerine can help increase the body’s ability to absorb ingredients, thereby increasing the efficacy of the rest of Hyper FX’s formula.
Our Opinion
Despite the fact that Hyper FX wasn’t as promising as we thought it would be, we think that this product is a nice, medium-grade pre-workout supplement.

L-Arginine is a very crucial part of a pre-workout supplement, BUT mostly every pre-workout on the market right now contains L -Arginine. So now we ask ourselves, which one to choose? Well, lets start by focusing on what a the sole purpose of a pre-workout is for.
A pre-workout supplement is designed to INCREASE blood flow to your muscles, which will ultimately give you the “pump”. Why do we want a pump? Because the “pump” is what gives your muscles the fuel and endurance to get those extra reps out. The first couple reps don’t do much to your muscle, it’s the last couple reps that count. The last couple reps that your muscles are begging to give up on, but giving that extra push and repping out a few more times will essentially trick your muscle cells, rip the tiny muscle fibers so they can grow back bigger, tighter, and stronger.
The next purpose of a pre-workout is to increase your body’s Nitric Oxide (NO) production. Why do we want to increase our body’s NO? Well what you want to do use iNOS &eNOS to effectively maximize Nitric Oxide. As the cells in your muscles age, they begin to oxidize. Your body uses the NO produced by your iNOS to combat the oxidation of cells. L-Arginine alone is okay, but what you REALLY want is the BLEND of BOTH L-Arginine * L_ Citrulline combined with powerful anti-oxidants such as acai and pomegranate to slow down the oxidation process, thus allowing the NO converted from your iNOS to stimulate muscle Growth. Besides iNOS, your body needs the NO produced from eNOS to regulate vasular function and blood flow. Your cells are limited in the production of NO based on the availability of L-Arginine.
A pre-workout I would avoid is any containing Geranium Stem (1-3 1-3 dimethylamylamine). Geranium Stem is good for burning fat, but it actually inhibits blood flow, which ultimately defeats the purpose of a pre-workout supplement. I personally use Gamma Labs pre workout supp, and it works great for me. I always read the ingredients before the name of a product, and Gamma’s proprietary blend, the no sugar, and the anti oxidants all caught my eye, and essentially turned out to be very effective.

I have this supplement. Been using it for a couple weeks. While 270mg of caffeine feels like a lot in most supplements coming out recently they will have that much or more. The biggest reason for purchasing this is the inclusion of d-aspartic acid. This stuff works well! And gives you a warm feeling and really gets you going! Plus this can be found for $20 on websites. I got mine for $18 with a coupon. So very cost effective, good trusted ingredients(besides daa which some people are afraid of) and a great preworkout for summer considering it contains no creatine which means no water retention.
